Data from the Global Volcanism Program of the Smithsonian Institution
Details for: Uksichan
Arcuate green valleys in the center of this NASA Landsat composite image (with north to the top) drain the 12-km-wide summit caldera of Uksichan volcano. This massive, gently dipping shield volcano covers 1850 sq km and is the largest volcano of the Sredinny Range. Several dacitic lava domes occupy the caldera floor. Late-Quaternary cinder cones and Icelandic-type shield volcanoes are located on the flanks of the volcano. The largest of these, the snow-dappled darker area above and to the left of the caldera, lies on the NW caldera rim. NASA Landsat7 image (worldwind.arc.nasa.gov)
