An partially-vegetated dark lava flow, possibly erupted during historical time, is present in the hills about 14 km SE of Lake Chamo in the southern Ethiopian Rift (Ebinger et al., 1993). Satellite imagery shows eight roughly circular areas with white edges that may be small vents, but no clear source for the flow at the highest point; there may have been a small fissure vent in this area with abundant faults. The flow extends along a ridge and downslope to the north and south, with a total length of 1 km.
