Golaya is a small basaltic stratovolcano of Pleistocene-to-Holocene age (Masurenkov, 1980) south of Asacha volcano. The 858-m-high volcano is elongated in a N-S direction and overlooks small shield volcanoes and cinder cones related to regional basaltic volcanism near the headwaters of the Asacha River.
